“Hometown Heating and Air have turned what could have been an enormous hassle and expense over many years at extreme risk to my lung health into an easy and affordable upgrade situation for my HVAC system, which is mostly legacy equipment from when my house was built in 2000. I was already concerned about aging equipment struggling after getting some prior AC repairs done back when I lived in this house as a renter. But Hometown went above and beyond with the promptness of their follow-up with me plus their dispatcher's attention to detail in getting me scheduled for repair service after the fan motor on my compressor died completely. Every detail of what I was told to expect about follow-up contact from my technician and when approximately he would likely arrive at my house was pitch perfect. Bobby Durham was my technician for this job and I wish I could give more than five stars for the service he provided! I could not be more impressed with the speed and thoroughness of his diagnostic work, or with his candor in walking me through different options for how to approach replacing equipment that could have put my health in serious danger. The fact that he also went several extra miles to make sure that my spouse and I could get set up with a financing deal to let us pay on principal for the first 18 months at 0% APR in addition to saving us a couple thousand dollars on the overall cost of the new system by getting us upgrade and buyback credits impressed me even further. I am not sure how anyone could have provided a better and more helpful experience with the service visit today than Bobby did. He absolutely knocked every aspect of diagnosing issues and planning upgrades out of the park and was a genuine pleasure to work with. Bobby even stuck around at my property so that my spouse could come back from Tampa where they'd been earlier that day to do the financing verification in person--which was enormously helpful as everyone at Hometown including both the dispatcher and company boss were learning a completely new financing verification system on the fly that their lender Synchrony Bank had only just introduced. Everyone worked together as a team to make sure my spouse and I were inconvenienced as little as possible in completing paperwork and online verification steps that were totally new to Bobby and other Hometown employees. They made sure we got a great deal on our financing and could take advantage of having zero up-front costs, not only for the installation itself but also for the equipment and other related expenses in that all-inclusive package, and to sustain those benefits of interest-free installment payment for a year and a half as we continue to build up our other investments again after making a 20% down payment on our home last fall. By tomorrow evening I should be set up with a brand-new compressor, air handler, and thermostat courtesy of Hometown without having to pay anything out of pocket up front except the initial (and 100% refundable) deposit that I did today for authorizing the upgrade. In contrast, even getting the part needed to replace the motor fan (only to put me in a situation of needing repairs on other parts that were already going within a couple of months and likely meaning I wouldn't be able to make any other covered repairs on my home warranty for the foreseeable future) would have taken at least several days. And because of a mold situation that was developing in the air handler, even trying to repair the system would have put my life at risk. I have a progressive disease that affects my lungs and have to wear a KN95 even for many routine activities. Bobby not only diagnosed the problem immediately but also did as much mitigation as he could right away to ensure that the air handler could not possibly send bits of moldy insulation flying into our ducts accidentally during the time between his visit this morning and tomorrow's scheduled install on the brand-new system.
