I chose this HVAC contractor because they have the brand I was looking for. During the initial quote session for the estimate, Daniel showed me the numbers and I immediately knew this company would be the one to install my new split-system heat pump. Even though I already had a quote from another contractor that featured the same brand, I am very satisfied that I chose Preferred Air. Not only was their estimate lower, but the level of service, quality of install, and attention to detail was outstanding. When my other heat pump deteriorates in a few years, I won't need to get nine quotes from nine different companies. I will simply call Preferred Air and setup an appointment for a new install.

I had a number of concerns about my AC system after a home inspector tagged a few different areas of concern. Preferred Air had every opportunity to find a bunch of problems and charge me for each, but the contractor spent close to an hour crawling around my attic, taking photos, testing the drip lines, checking all my vents etc only to tell me everything looks fine and recommend regular maintenance in the spring. The assessment was affordable and I felt the contractor was honest and genuine. He answered all my questions, showed me photos and examples, and gave me a full range of options. He gave me prices for maintenance and future, non-urgent repairs and encouraged me to focus on other areas of the house before worrying about the HVAC. I will definitely return as a customer.
Edit: 3 years later and I'm still a satisfied customer! Preferred Air kept my old unit running as long as they could but this year we sprung a leak. Daniel spent an hour setting up some diagnostics and followed up in 2 weeks to confirm the bad news. I was given all of the options for repairs or replacement at various price points and they took time to discuss the pros/cons of each. Even with a full replacement of my heat pump I still got a great deal. Their prices are extremely fair and their team is responsive and answers questions/concerns quickly. I cannot recommend Preferred Air enough.

The online request process was straightforward and they reached out the same day to schedule a visit. I received a text when Daniel was on his way and he arrived promptly at the start of the scheduled window.
Daniel really took the time to listen to what I was looking for. After checking out the house, he recommended the right mini split heat pump size, the best placement options, and suggested a few upgrades to improve efficiency and save energy. He explained everything clearly and answered all my questions without hesitation.
The itemized quote was detailed and easy to understand. It included everything from the heat pump, installation (materials and electrical), attic insulation, to even a Wi-Fi adaptor so I could control the system through an app.
June 6th installation was quick and smooth, and everything worked perfectly right away. The condenser unit location was inconspicuous and protected from the elements with adequate airflow access. They helped me set up the app and even built an attic enclosure over the drop down stairs. Pricing felt fair and reasonable, especially for the quality of work they delivered.
During the summer peak when it was 110+ outside, I was able to keep my garage at whatever temperature I wanted, which makes it usable year round and is a game changer in Phoenix.
Daniel was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and communicated really well throughout the whole process. I’d definitely recommend Preferred Air to anyone looking for an honest, skilled, and fairly priced HVAC company. I’ll be using them again for any future HVAC needs.

These guys are great! I had an old 1994 air conditioner that I thought only needed a new fan. I put it in myself (it was $35 vs another AC company that was trying to charge me $800). Unfortunately, I installed it wrong so I called Preferred Air which was recommended by a friend at SRP. They came out and installed the fan correctly and quoted me a price for a new AC. Six months later my AC stopped working (freon was leaking everywhere). Preferred Air installed a new AC unit (at the previously quoted price). They also rehung all my duct work in the attic so they had better air flow, put in a new air handler, drip tray, and thermostat. Furthermore, they let me know that the six inches of additional insulation I put in was not enough and that I should install at least 12". I did that and now my house is much cooler, my electric bill is much lower, and they come out seasonally and service my AC. I recommend them to everyone I know who needs AC work, and here in Arizona that is a lot of people. Preferred Air is awesome and much more affordable than the bigger companies.
